[Jul. 10th, 2007|08:49 pm] |
I was attempting to install some apps on a Mac today, but seem to be failing. :/
Any Mac users know what's up?
Tried to install the bittorrent app, .dmg Disk Image file, by double-clicking the disk image which lauched a folder, then I dragged and dropped the icon in the folder to the applications folder.
But when I click on the icon in the apps folder, all that happens is a copy of the icon flies down to the Dock and disappears. :/
Am I doing anything wrong? |

After reading about Chococat's chococat ebay woes and having bugger all to do at work, I decided to look though my paypal account records and see what I've brought over the last 5+ years.
So far I've found payment for a scary amount of laserdiscs, gasmasks, wigs, Doujinshi (clean I think) & an electric massager o_O. Note I've use my paypal account to pay for items other people have brought! ^^; |

| New TV |
[Jul. 14th, 2006|11:11 am] |
This entry is a Month late, but what the hell. ^^
I decided to splash out and get a TV as I've been with one for over a year, using a PC TV card instead. It was ok, but shit for consoles & having to view on the PC/laptop was a pain.
So first I had to decide on size, yeah size is very important. ^_^
I was stuck between 26" & 32", but after a bit of measuring I decided I could just about fit in a 32" one, given this should be a 1 in 10 year purchase I should get the biggest I can use.
The 3 makes that caught my eye were LG, Samsung and Sony.
In terms of specs there wasn't much to choose between them, all had my requirements on connections, 2 Scart socks (1 RGB), Component, VGA D-Sub, AV.
So I did little window shopping.
The picture quality on the LG was a tad dull, colours weren't as vibrant as they should have been and blacks, which are always gonna be an issue on LCD TVs were very poor. The speakers were on either side making the TV larger than it needed to be, this would be a problem given that I was at my limit on size anyway.
Samsung had better colours compared to the LG, blacks were also a little better, but not my much. The Panasonic next to it showed it up though.
Now the Sony, note this TV was £300 more (list prices) than the other two, completely whiped the floor on all three of the other machines. Colours vibrant and bright, but not over coloured, blacks were almost black, something LCDs are not great at. The only sight downside with the sony, was the lack of PIP, but that's not something I have to have.
Anyway after a few days of though I decided to go with the Sony, £200 more than the other two, but it did look so much better and I'll have to live with it for a long time.
Here it is.
http://www.ajelectronics.co.uk/ViewProdDetails.asp?prod_code=KDL32S2010&Prod_name=Sony%20KDL32S2010U%20LCD%20TV&CAT_CODE=7
I paid £930, gone down since, not bad considering the list price is £1299.
Now all I can say about AJ electronics is there service is the best I've ever had for a fast delivery. I ordered online at 13:30 on a friday, I payed the £25 for saturday delivery, normal delivery is free, not really expecting it to come till next week, but bugger me if it didn't arrive at 11am the next day. :) No only was it fast, it was the Saturday of one of the England first round games.
Anyway I've tested it out and I have to say I'm impressed, DVDs look stunning, TV is very nice on digital and even terstrial is good, something I didn't expect. Playing games is good too, not too much smearing. VGA connection is great, it makes watching DivX so much easier playing them from my laptop.
So now I'm gonna have to watch all them DVDs I've not got round to watching. :) |

I relented and ordered XP Pro, so I will be legal in OS terms. :)
Unfortunately with this months high expenditure I'm gonna be calling in my debts. ^^;
It's shocking that once I add them up they total around £500. o_O
I must be mad. ;_;
So now to draft some tactful emails ^^;
Oh and over a month after I sold an ebay item, some tard has contacted me saying it hasn't arrived..... A month FFS. :/ |

 | You scored as atheism. You are... an atheist, though you probably already knew this. Also, you probably have several people praying daily for your soul.
Instead of simply being "nonreligious," atheists strongly believe in the lack of existence of a higher being, or God.

Well, this one seemed interesting.
Very Special Case
You scored 75% Beginner, 93% Intermediate, 81% Advanced, and 77% Expert! I don't know how you did it, but you boggle my mind! You got at least 75% of the intermediate, advanced, and expert questions correct, but you got 75% or less in the beginner section. How is this possible? Were you just guessing?????? Either way... Thank you so much for taking my test. I hope you enjoyed it! o_O I took less time on the Expert one as well.......
Probably messed up on questions that have 2 correct answers ^^;

Boku no Sucky-Sucky Trilogy
This contains (from Damerell)
"boku no sucky sucky" version 2. This is essentially finished, but could do with DVD-quality video.
"boku no sql" version 0.9. This has had a minor rewrite on the subtitle track, and the video is pretty good rather than utterly awful. The translators' notes are included as a separate file; watch them first.
"serial experiments wang" (was "end of ewangelion") version 00.1. The video's fine here; we need to actually watch a few audiences watch the sub track before we decide about that one. It's missing some of the planned footage simply because of a shortage of time. This version fixes an audio bug or two from version 00, and is encoded a little better.
Feel free to advertise the url to anyone that might be interested. |

Quite a bargain as it turns out as they found some more discs, so I got 81 Films instead of the 45 listed. XD
So now I need to know what films are worth watching, keeping and selling. ^_^
List: ( Read more... )
I have seen some of these already though (in bold) I may have seen other, buit not have been paying full attention to them, so I've not counted them. ^^; |
